British mezzo-soprano, Louise Rogan, spent the 2014 season with Opera Colorado as a Young Artist in residency. During that time, she performed Giovanna/Il Paggio (Rigoletto), Mercédès (Carmen) and the title role in Carmen. She was also featured in Opera Colorado’s touring productions as Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and Stephano (Romeo et Juliette). As a Young Artist with Chicago Opera Theater, she covered the roles of Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Masha (Moscow, Cheryomushki). Louise is a graduate of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where she received her Professional Diploma in Opera as well as her Bachelor of Music degree. As a student at CCPA, she performed Pamela (New York Stories), Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and the title role in the Chicago premiere of Amelia by Daron Hagen. Originally from Manchester, England, Louise received a Diploma in Vocal and Opera Studies from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she performed La Libellule (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges) and Second Woman (Dido and Aeneas) under the tutelage of Sandra Dugdale. Highlights from the 2015 season include understudying Lydia in the world premiere of Second Nature with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and performing the role on tour with Lyric's Opera In The Neighborhoods. In 2017, Louise looks forward to her debut with the Chicago Sinfonietta at Chicago Symphony Center, a return to her alma mater for a recital with Scott Gilmore and spending her summer with Central City Opera as a Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Apprentice Artist.
